The steel-armored wail of prodigal vocalist Nina Osegueda (called by some "the lovechild of Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson") tops off deft performances by a band that knows how to deliver the goods. From the infernal metal intensity of "Queen of Hell", to the brooding and brutal "My Disease" (featuring Iron Maiden vocalist Blaze Bayley), to the fist-pumping anthem "I Will Not Break", A Sound of Thunder delivers a timeless album full of metal classics. 1) Power Play 2) Time's Arrow 3) I Will Not Break 4) Broken Bridge 5) Queen of Hell 6) Let's Start A Fire 7) I'll Walk With You 8) My Disease (featuring Blaze Bayley) 9) Wastelands 10) End Of The Road 11) Reign Of The Hawklords Total running time: 64 minutes $(".tralbum-about").last().bcTruncate(TruncateProfile.get("tralbum_about"), "more", "less"); credits released June 4, 2013 Produced by Kevin '131' GutierrezRecorded at Assembly Line Studios, Vienna, VA $(".tralbum-credits").last().bcTruncate(TruncateProfile.get("tralbum_long"), "more", "less"); license all rights reserved tags Tags hard rock metal power metal a sound of thunder heavy metal metal prog prog metal rock traditional metal Washington Shopping cart total USD Check out about A Sound of Thunder Washington, D.C.
Time, as a variable frequently, appears in most of the mathematical equations used to describe the known physical world. However, whether time flows backwards or forwards usually makes no difference in the math. But in our everyday world we never see this happening. The fact that, in our experience, time is observed to always flow inexorably from past to present to future in real life is known as "time's arrow."
There are several ways physicists delineate time's arrow. The Psychological Arrow is our subjective sense of time, the fact that we remember events in one direction of time, but not the other. The Electromagnetic Arrow of time is described by retarded solutions of Maxwell's equations, not advanced ones. (Maxwell's equations describe the propagation of radio waves and light).
The Cosmological Arrow of time sees the history of the universe moving forward in time in an irreversible manner. There is an overall classification of "time's arrow" referred to as the Thermodynamic Arrow. This involves the Law of Entropy-the observed behavior that all the universe progresses from order to disorder as a net function. The Law of Entropy is, of course, also known as the Second Law of Thermodynamics.
A host of related questions are now under vigorous investigation. When the universe began, did it contain an equal number of particles and antiparticles? If so, what happened to all the anti-matter? Do mirror universes exist? Why are we stuck with time's arrow? Because science cannot answer questions about origins, these questions naturally overflow into metaphysics and philosophy.
Let me paraphrase the oldest story I know: In the beginning, there was nothing, and then God said, "Let there be light." Everything comes after the beginning, and we all seem to share this awareness of the direction of time's arrow. There is a famous line by e.e. cummings that might seem to apply to Benjamin Button: and down he forgot as up he grew. But no, it involves the process of forgetting our youth as we grow older. 2b1af7f3a8
